I was a telemarketer for about 6 months. It was my first job. I dealt with a few strokers in my time there. One guy went on for a long time about his wife, and he told me her nipples tasted like deodorant. Then he told me that he wasn't going to be buying my product. I just went with it. I was getting paid either way.
