I dont understand how anyone can ever be offended by the made up sound coming out of a primates mouth
If it weren't the word 'Retard' it would be another. The word 'Retarded', in fact was the polite term for anyone with an intellectual disability some time ago. I don't like the word because I think it is overused. My only problem would be with someone using it towards someone with a disability to hurt them. As a teacher, it's important to have a certain level of restraint.
