  1. The benefits of universal healthcare system are, that the government regulates the prices of medication and procedures. What that means is, if there would be a hospital that would charge more money for the same treatment, medicine etc. the public health insurance (gov.) would not pay for it and such hospital would go bankrupt. Unlike in the USA, where hospitals compete between each other and there are just a plenty of people willing to pay more money. This also leads to uneven quality of healthcare = rich/expensive hospitals having the best doctors and equipment, while the poor/affordable hospitals struggling for survival. That just does not happen in Europe + the standards are given by the law. No crap, like IV bag for $500 in one hospital and the same bag in a hospital down the street for $25, while the actual cost being about $0.5c. And definitely no crap, such check for his insurance before we stop the bleeding.
