When some of the white college chicks I used to party with got into wokeism it just hit me wrong in the gut. Now I think it's fucking stupid and I have more diverse friends than they do, none of us give a fuck. I have been down on my luck homeless, mental problems, etc. more than them and they pretty much appointed themselves referees or something without asking anybody.
People really don't understand white privilege. This is my attempt at helping some understand.
You have to pick a 5 player basketball team for a game in which you and the team you pick are going to split 10 million dollars (just for being selected to play) triple that if they win. In the gym enters 5 slender black dudes that are 6'5" or taller and 5 average size white dudes that are all around 6ft. You pick your team and all the info you have is what you see. MOST people are going to pick the 5 black dudes. This would be Black Privilege. Now come to find out the black dudes are from Mali and they have never touched a basketball in their lives. They were all still given this privilege due to whatever prejudices you as the coach had. Now the white dudes are all actually from the top NBA teams and never had the opportunity to play. This is what its like being black in the USA, but were talking about its relevance in red lining, the criminal justice system, the educational system, and others. Its easy to ignore if you don't experience it. Statistically you can clearer see the racial disparity in these systems. Even better you can look at certain episodes of What Would You do and 100 humans on Netflix and gain insight and understanding. ALL PRIVILEGE IS REAL. Black people have subject to discrimination in the more detrimental systems of the US.
I can't remember which podcast it was on but basically it was a group of black women who were saying that all white people were racist and that its not possible to be racist towards whites and one of the host who was white said he grew up n a black neighborhood and was beat up all the time because he was white and there response to that was thats bullying not racism. What's the difference?
