Nobody absolutely nobody knows who the Christian God really is. We have a small idea but no knowledge! GOD revealed himself to me after 4 yrs of prayer! It completely revolutionized my life and I understood things so much clearly!
Who wouldn't get bored in an eternity?
I died for 3 minutes. Nothing happened to me. I can tell you that.
7:50 – that's not the problem. The problem is that the longer you live, the fewer new things to do there are. It's like you've eaten up everything. If you went to Mars aged 30 you would be filled with energy and interest, not because Mars is amazing, but because your capacity to be amazed isn't sated. If lived long enough to go to Mars at the age of 350, you'd be interested in it for a few months then get bored. Then what? There are only so many ways of being alive, only so many experiences it's possible to engage with productively. After a while new experiences start to feel like tired copies of other experiences you have already had. The universe is very fractal, eventually going to Mars, Jupiter and Saturn will feel exactly the same as going to Connecticut or New Jersey, your next relationship will feel like a tired rehash of all the problems from your previous 72 relationships because you can't change yourself enough to be appealing to everyone. The only way to go to Mars is to go there when you are 25, so the experience becomes a throbbing, resonant piece of perception that touches your soul. the more you age the thicker your mind-skin gets, and that's not because there's something incomplete about being human, but because there's something OVER-complete about the Universe itself, from the perspective of an immortal human. Being human isn't compatible with being immortal. You'd need an endless bank account and an endless supply of girlfriends or boyfriends, and then you'd stop having relationships altogether, forever, and just be alone, because you will have reached the limit of how much you personally can change. You would end up going insane with misery because life stops tasting like a beautiful experience. Would you need to inject weird drugs into your brain so that things feel new? Or would you just have to start erasing your memories? And the weight of all your mistakes would pile upon you, over and over and over… It would only work if everyone was in the same boat, all immortal, all insanely rich, all perfectly emotionally balanced and all good looking and sexy and interesting. And THAT would end up being dull, because everybody would be roughly the same! What would you even have conversations about? Love and happiness are deeply connected to death. In this Universe, love is humanity shoving a middle finger up at the endless emptiness of the Universe saying "HA! we are not the rocks or the trees or the nebulae or the black holes! We are the HUMAN GUYs and we do the Dance of the Humans!" and we do crazy shit just because we want to be awesome. But if you're immortal you ARE the same as the rocks, the trees, the nebulae and the black holes. There would be no jokes, no falling in love, no dancing because none of that stuff would make any sense any more. You'd end up being too serious. All that stuff comes from being little and fragile and amazing. You aren't little or fragile or amazing if you're immortal. If you're immortal you're no different from a pebble on a beach. Those things last for millions of years… Do you want to be a conscious pebble? Maybe it would be nice. But it would be TERRIBLY dull. I think you'd have to switch people's minds off somehow if everyone's going to be immortal or at least give people more control over their own minds. Have an app on your phone that lets you dial down your own depression or dial up your own horniness or download new emotional experiences. Then everyone would have "hyper-horny" on their phones all the time. (shrug)…. I'm glad I won't live to see any of this…
Whole point of heaven (how I see it) is that it’s pure happiness or atleast you’re in a state peace. You don’t feel things like jealously or rage just bliss. The idea of “well this is disappointing” doesn’t exist in heaven because it’s the perfect state of existence.
