I'm more of a psilocybin/mushroom person. Mushrooms take you down to the root of the root of yourself. LSD is more 'electric' and visual.
So much of this is unresearched. Al Hubbard aka Dr. Spaulding bought a bunch of Uranium. "He saw the connection– do you?" (Leary, 1967). Timothy Leary is not the sole reason research was capped. Leary was approached by the CiA and would have full research clearance if he went white-lab coat route. He chose not to because he believed that people have the right to do with their own mind what they want and not be told what they can and can't do. No one argues that you should have to have pot regulated by doctors… The CIA was giving LSD away for free in the late 50s and early 60s in Haight-Ashbury two of the most influential people THEY turned on being Ken Kesey AND Charles Manson. LSD is a social experiment entirely designed by the CIA. I really hate when I hear uneducated people try to blame everything on Leary that shit is sophomoric in Psychedelic History and Research.
Psychedelics are BOTH medicinal and spiritual.. just like cannabis. Medicinal properties, can be recreational and/or spiritual
It's impossible to lose the ego, the ego is a necessary part of consciousness. And a reductive concept by which to view self… All these terms; ID, ego, super ego, animus, shadow, archetypes… They're just sign posts towards things we've forgot, and ran through a filter of contemporary semantics. Semantics which are informed by poor to reasonable interpretations of ancient texts and religions.
The entire field of psychoanalysis was built from esoteric concepts.
What's become apparent to me, is that these things will presrnt themselves to you, when the time is right… If you aren't ready, and meant to do psychadelics, then they won't appear in your life.
I've never experienced Amanita Muscaria before, never found it after many attempts. Then one day recently, walking in the woods, a vision appeared in my mind of two Amanita's, a large one and a small one… I thought nothing of it and moved on since I was looking for interesting rocks.
30 minutes or so later, there they were, exactly as they appeared in my mind… Needless to say, I knew in that moment, that I was being shown that it was the right time, bagged them up, dried them out, and began a microdosing process.
I've found this to be true of any experience. What is meant for you, will come to you, and only when you're ready.
You can thank the Catholic church, prior to this, pagans would readily consume mushrooms, and herbs to heal themselves, even as part of religioys ceremonies. Same with Buddhists, Egyptians, Mayans, Brahmans, Ayurvedics… The Catholic church's need for supression led directly into industrialists and their need to corral people into labour… The industrial world has no time to waste… This is the prison we've been born into. And we need to walk away from it.
In the UK we're not legally allowed to pick shrooms… F#ck that… They grow from the ground freely. And you see the schism between people who want to live naturally, and those who want this mechanised, technologised world.
Anything that liberates, is harmful to a system that wants you trapped.
