  1. In 1970 I knew a kid who stopped smoking after dropping acid. I remember when I smoked on acid the tobacco really seemed like a horrible poison. The first time I took acid I was looking at the wall and I could tell there was something between me and the wall besides light and air. I thought about that many times and years later I realized it was God who is everywhere. I don't remember anyone having problems with LSD except becoming afraid of something they imagined. I and others I hung with at the time drank and smoked pot at the same time. I sometimes drank alcohol until I couldn't see anything anymore because it was less likely you'd pass out drunk while on acid…. While I was typing Joe mentioned ego. I don't believe "ego" describes telling yourself your "great". I believe that ego is telling yourself anything or supposing yourself to be any sort of way focusing within when you should be conscious of the world that is "without." Ego is the words in your head, it's your brain telling you about stuff you have already told your brain, which is computer and voice recorder. If you relax until there are NO words in your head you will see that those words were distractions holding you back in most situations. You have to "think" in words sometimes in new , unfamiliar situations, but mostly you do the same things everyday but your brain wants operate with words inside your skull, uncontrolled.
