My family was here in America with my great grandmother came to America from Ireland as a 15 yr. old girl with no money , not a slave owner ever. my great grandfather came to America from Ireland and was allowed into the country only if he were to become an infantry soldier . He was also never a slave owner . I’m white. I’m a mix of Irish, British, German and Swedish. No one in my family’s history has ever owned a slave ! My Great Great grandfather in 1864 James Rice Kilborn, was a 53 yr. old ! volunteer Union soldier in the Civil War New York City. Right leg blow off lost his hearing from the explosion. And died the next year from his injury , He also was never a slave owner ! Here we are now 2020 . I’m a product of real Immigrants , that were truly leaving their home countries because of poverty and death etc. they hope for a better life in America. And were willing to sacrifice so that I could live better. Not here on an EB2 or an EB3 and especially not on an EB5 visa .. , Im now 42 yrs. old , no consistent job full time or part time for almost 6 years. And very soon I’ll be homeless. I’ve lost my wife who I’ve been with for 21yrs. Of our lives , we were Married for 12 yrs. 3 beautiful little baby girls . I have No career . And when your wife is a doctor in 2020 ! She will divorce you quickly! If you have No job. , She can find another man who is here in America with an EB5 visa that can financially keep him self and a family completely stable. I still have no work ,124 resumes out .. no jobs! I only am able to be living in a house right now because my sister is letting me stay in her empty house during COVID 19 quarantine . After this not sure what’s going to happen.
And no , I don’t qualify for any government assistance or disability … my family had nothing to do with slavery , yet I’m labeled and tagged just because I’m white.. Did we forget that there were free black people who had lots of slaves themselves ? Free Black Men & Women who owned slaves. Yeah ! America it’s great to be white . 👎🏻 EB visa changes the landscape and opportunity and the playing field for the average working class American.
