Mr Rogan''s program is worth watching only because he has interesting guests, because he is himself all too often precious and holier than thou. His spiel about compassion is plain and simple a misunderstanding of what it's all about. It has nothing to do with lack of compassion, it has to do with injustice, double standards, conceit, preciousness, and vindictiveness.
I feel like I'm one of the few people who really understood the parkland shooting bit he did and maybe that's cuz I write comedy myself. Go back and listen to it again. Louis does absurdist jokes a lot but many have layers behind just the face value laugh. The parkland bit was social commentary on how kids are being forced to grow up and lose their innocence sooner than any generation in the past because they're having to take the issue of school shootings into their own hands since the adults in charge fail to mend the growing problem. That of course isnt a funny angle so Louis brings that point up by making fun of the fact kids are on tv talking like they're important. Issue was the people that didnt laugh or think never understood the reason they though he shouldnt have made that joke is the same reason he made it. That's a comedians job
His Parkland joke was better than any Rogan joke I ever heard imo
You can joke about anything. I want comedians to feel completely free to develop any content they think works best. Some jokes my offend some or fall flat – that's the way it is.
