Johnson did well, despite being weakened by his own ineptitude, in answering a question. said he won't run again.
the only way any 3rd party candidacies get anywhere ever, is if they get votes. they get my vote. every 4 yrs. encourage them to keep running. a few years ago, Sanders couldn't have called himself an outright Socialist and remain in the hunt. he's a 3rd party candidate .we need to keep the Johnsons interested. the bullshit drug war will never be stopped w/ out the Libertarians. imagine under crowding in prisons. and tax dollars not wasted on searching for a pipe w/ drug resin in it, under your car seat(driving impaired has to stay illegal, tho).having a tiny amount of a stimulant on you won't put you away.
Here’s the rub man: fiscal and social matters are not mutually exclusive.
The political compass has to axes – Libertarian to Authoritarian and Left to Right. You can be a any permutation in that compass.
Fiscal luck is kind of power and without power no one really cares about being socially tolerant, especially if you are not at the receiving end.
We need to making helping people really cheap. We need to invest in technologies that will make base good so abundant (Post Scarce) thay they become free.
On Earth at the sea level no one can meter oxygen to people in non polluted environments with healthy lungs. That the level of abundance we need for all materials, water, labour (intellectual and physical), and perhaps – somehow – land.
And this will require efficient spending.
Soon enough “work” and “earning a living” would not be a subject to moralise over.
We moralise over scarce things that can increase power, invoke envy, and that are scarce.
