  1. Ya'aqob & Ribqah's actions, are not so much selfish deceit on their part, as they were carrying out the "Will" of YHVH verses carrying out the "will" of an earthy father, Yitshaq.
In this respect, Yitshaq's love for Esau made him blind to YHVH's Will as being different from his own. In essence, making Yitshaq deceived in a way, to the Will of Yah.
However, we know that when Yah's Will is made known, but then superceded by the actions of men, an alternate action must return it to its proper course; and so it does here too.
Does Yitshaq receive punishment for the use of deception in carrying out Yah's Will? Was he possibly punished later, in the form of having his possessions taken to preserve his life & thereby ending in servitude to Laban? Maybe so, but forgiveness was given & blessings were with him for heeding Yah's Will no matter the consequences.

  2. I just wanted to share my thoughts with Esau giving up the birthright for a bowl of lentils. When I read the parable of the talents, it always reminds me of Esau. Talents were given to each person and with that talent, works or production was required. Esau was like the wicked and lazy servant who hid his talent in the earth. He was unproductive. It would seem that with a birth right, comes much responsibility which in the case of Esau’s birthright, would require duties in service of YAHUAH. “To whom much is given, much is expected.” When scripture says, Esau despised his birthright, I am thinking that he despised the requirements or works that went along with the birthright. It’s interesting, he didn’t seem to cry or mourn loosing his birthright, but he did mourn loosing the blessings. Just some thoughts. Blessings to all

  3. 1:25:26 I remember this was an issue in Ann Frank's family. One side fibbed and smuggled Jews out on fake papers, the other told the truth. One day they hid 2 boys under the floor, and replaced the carpet and furniture. The soldiers asked the aunt where the boys were and she replied 'under the table'. They thought this was great jokes and left….
