You guys don't know what your talking about, the separate the leg 1mm per day and the new bone grows. It's your own bone growing. Once the bone solidifies they remove the rod
We were offered treatments for my daughter when she was a child because she was so petite but we declined. She is an adult and barely 5ft & has no complaints about it. I have male friends that are close to 5ft and seem to be fine with their height and found wives slightly shorter than themselves.

As a short guy, i can undestand why people doing this despite the pain. The pain is temporary, the lenght is forever.
