In the uk we have the benefit system. If your looking for work you get x amount and on top of that your rent can also be paid, so out of the money you receive you are only responsible for paying your basic utility bills and food . A lot of people work hard and improve their life but there is also 2 other groups. 1. Those with no intention of working that play the system, their parents did it and their kids will do it. 2, the its not worth my while working people. I could get a job, but then my rent is not paid so im working all day to be no better off.
I know this UBI system is different from what i described, but the point i am making is, when you insure someone is set for cash there is a lot of people who just say great feet up, beers in, this is the life. It makes for lazy unmotivated people who have no interest in the greater good of society, and in my opinion that is simply not a good idea.
Pretty sure 40% of the US population has an IQ below 85.
Those people tend to land at the bottom of the socio-economic ladder.
They also dont do well in school.
Who gives a Fuck if it motivates you or not. Jobs will be scarce. Motivate to what? Look for a job that isnt going to be there
America is the best country in the world, overall, but not in every single category
Inflation. People who do nothing will get money and those who do work have to make whatever is being handed out before actually making any money.
