I’m in the car business too. Sometimes a person will sell u a car or trade it in. Then u fix it up so u can sell it and that person gets mad but they don’t understand how much it costs to be in business they think because u make 5k that the owner is putting that in there pocket and that’s just not true. I had an employee that looked at my gross sales and think I was making all this money so I should pay him more. Well I showed him my tax return and I made less money then my employee because I put a lot of money back into the business because I’ve only been open a few years. When I was an employee I also thought the owners were these greedy people that have it so easy, they don’t get it they should pay everyone more money but after opening my shop I learned how wrong I was! When I had a job at 5:30 every night and on Friday all My worries we’re gone well now sometimes I have to stay late for a customer to pick up a car, sometimes I work late and weekends because I have too much work or it was slow for a while so when the work comes in I have to get it done. Couple weeks ago I was like sweet I got a few extra thousand bucks this week then I look in the mail and I have workers comp insurance and liability insurance audit payments so all that money was gone for nothing. The cool thing tho is when u get to the point when u have good employees in place you don’t have to do as much physical work, you have more control of ur life u can’t just not show up u still need to be in control but if u want to drop off ur kids at school u can.
