Political comedy?
The problem with Carlin (even though he was brilliant and very funny most of the time) was that a lot of people took him seriously and considered him somewhat of a teacher, not just a comedian. And he didn't always make it clear when he was joking (compare his saying "I don't care if children get shot in schools" to other statements we know for sure he was serious about). And that sort of mentality is part of what led us here, where jokes in general can be attacked and criticized as if they're meant to be taken seriously.
Goddamn, Dave Rubin is stupid..
