Omg why don’t they use logic and physics in a fantasy comic book 😂
Actually they use the reactor to heat H³O(heavy water) then it goes through a heat exchanger with H²O to create steam and the steam turns turbines which powers the generators.
nuclear power plants produce the cleanest energy out of all sources. The high level nuclear waste is stored, not just dumped in the ocean. People need to do research before they go fear mongering.
Its a comic book
I’ve worked in nuclear power my entire adult life, both naval and commercial. Even with the worst accident (Chernobyl), the only deaths were first responders who got incredibly high doses of radiation. There haven’t been any real health effects on the population, and people have moved back to the area. Hell, the other units of Chernobyl continued to operate and people worked at that same place until it was shut down in like 2000. If it was so bad, how were people able to work there day in and out for decades?
Your body is always bombarded by radiation. Just flying across country will give you a large dose. Go outside the our atmosphere into space. You have any idea how much radiation an astronaut is exposed to? Do you hear about all those deaths and sicknesses from that? No. Why do you think that is? Because it doesn’t happen.
And those were power plants built in like the 60s. We now have the technology and know-how to build completely safe power plants that can refuel themselves, require practically no cooling after shutdown, to prevent what happened at Fukushima and Chernobyl.
