There is no proof that an autonomous car is safer than a human driving. You have to remember that the coding is done by humans who are not necessarily good at programming. I was a programmer and I worked with people who didn't have a clue what they were doing. I had to keep explaining how to change percentages to decimals so the math can be done. And you think they are going to write safe programs for cars to drive themselves? Are you crazy? And now people have been killed by these cars not recognizing people when they aren't in a crosswalk. Who knows what else they've done wrong?
