I can relate to lars. Metallica and every other artist in the world get crappy record deals and pour in alot of money to record and produce an album only to be ripped away by some zit faced kid living in moms basement and shared across the internet. I still buy music. I have a vast music collection. Id rather have the actual cd or vinyl. These bands put this music out to support their families and their crew. The record companies get most of it. If they dont get paid then we arent entertained.
Metallica did a lot of bitching about the creative process and hard work writing songs, then release a double album of cover songs.
Naaaa, Lars a greedy douche, F him. Also you're not a paramedic, don't do stupid comparisons, you're just greedy admit it. Also I bought all the Metallica albums I listen to and don't regret it but I understand that albums were pretty expensive back in the day and not everyone could afford them.
The Metallicas of the scene never cared to stand up for the fans when they were getting illegally fleeced on price fixed albums, cassettes, and CDs over several decades so it's amazing that they'd expected empathy around the impact of downloading or streaming on the industry's price model.
The fans deserved to break that model and everyone righteous, the US Department of Justice included, is thankful they found a way to do it.
