Joe makes an excellent point about civilisations opting to not broadcast their existence in the skies, for anyone interested more in this, check out the 3 body problem. It’s a mind boggling series I cannot recommend more highly
I believe Earth can provide the resources for deep space travel . But the universe is so vast I believe we won't learn to use them before running out. Earth is changing to were we won't be able to survive one day. Not talking about our own doing but that might happen too. Self-destructive behavior we have
We'll be more intelligent in 5000 years than we are now because evolution detects current humans are using their brains a lot more and adapt accordingly. We'll also get smaller since there's less physical labour to do. Just comparing the current humans to what humans looked 10,000 years back to realise past bipeds were bigger and stronger
It is quite possible if this universe is unstable and going to fail , then any alien life that visits us is from another universe or reality just here to document our universe
Something I often wonder also is: most people imagine intelligent alien life that is similar to us as in similar sized planet, similar sized beings with similar but different physical features. I tend to think that there may be Star systems out there that have a sun 20x larger than ours and a habitable planet equally as large. Meaning that the intelligent life could just be consistent with that scale. So imagine human like beings that are 20x bigger than us!!!!! But maybe they are silicone based instead of carbon. Maybe they have 8 eyes like a spider but have 4 limbs like we do and can walk. The thought of that is wild. Because it’s hard to imagine that all the other civilizations in the universe are the exact same size as ours. There are probably giants out there… and then you could go the opposite direction and maybe there is a planet of hobbits out there somewhere that are still living in the stone or medieval times 🏰
