Papa mistakenly believes that propaganda is the truth or simply a second opinion.
Those things that Reagan promised weren't real. They always promise that the things they will do will make things better. That's just a promise. There is data on this stuff. We actually know the ramification of policies before they're implemented.
He was lying. Just like he lied about trickle down. People were too ignorant to realize that he was actually proposing the economic policies that have sustained authoritarian regimes since the beginning of recorded human history. The ruling class holds wealth. The wealth NEVER trickles down. It can't. It's just a lie they tell you to get you to go along.
Propaganda is one of the techniques used to keep people complacent during their own subjugation.
It is absolutely shocking to me that Papa believes the Russia-election tampering nonsense.
When our stockmarket crashes, when they blame that on Russia, when they declare war on Russia for it, my guess is that he will believe that too.
An ignorant populace is one of the three legs upon which an authoritarian system of government is stabilized.
It isn't a conspiracy. It's an ingredient in maintaining the subjugation of citizens in order to prop up a plutocracy, theocracy, monarchy, or fascist state. Therefore, right-wingers strive for an ignorant populace on purpose.
This is not opinion. It's fact that has been known for 500 years and is NEVER debated in political science (not even by right-wingers).
Democracy is leftist and only supported by leftist political policies. Period. Leftist strive for an educated populace, because it's necessary in order to achieve stable leftist governments: i.e. representative democracies.
If people had civics, then they wouldn't be trying to have philosophical debates about known facts. These sort of debates showcase absolute ignorance
