All these recorded sightings are the result of wish thinking. Sorry, but it’s likely these creatures have been extinct for a good while.

i passionately want tasmanian tigers to be out there(& maybe they even are out in the regions that are too accesible to humans). But when an entire community has "seen them" & a biologist watched one "playing with his dog for 15 minutes" yet nobody can get a picture… c'mon! No carrion, no bones, no scat? If theyre really out there… they're way out there.
Nature can surprise you! Honestly there are still ancient people that technology and man have never heard of or even seen( tribes isolation etc you named it) and to say it was 1936, tell me; no technology back then no monitors to track the poor extinct animal whatsoever yet they actually claimed it was the last one? I think it’s pretty absurd to say that! I rather believe a person who claims saw a thylacines than a person who claims saw Bigfoot. Thylacines are out there and it could be the government doesn’t want the public to know about those precious animals
Leave them alone for Pete’s sake. They don’t want to be found. We nearly eradicated them once
