  1. First hand account of an old Australian aborigine as recorded by Rosendo Salvado, Benedictine Monk, New Norcia, Western Australia circa 1830. An aborigine guide told of deleting his niece in a survival situation. Lost in the desert, they were not going to make it. He unpersoned her, drank her blood and ate her flesh. Allowed him to survive. He was not bothered by it much. His attitude was that it was better for her, she didn't suffer a lingering end, and it was better for him, he got to live. No judgement here, just relaying a story. Life used to be brutal, people were pragmatic and, in their way, merciful; dying of heat stroke and dehydration in the sun-scorched Australian outback would not be a pleasant experience.
