Growing up in the outskirts of town, my friends and family ran into black bear and cougar walking to and from school. I don't think our parents believed how much wildlife still lived in the back yard. We all survived. We all had face to face encounters with wildlife all the time and we had to accept as day to day life,and when we told our parents they would disregard us.
Those woods are gon now ,replaced with home and garden.
