I think Joe should do a "Historiography of Comedy". Think that would be amazing. People need to know how important comedy and the tradition is. And "how to lighten up" should be woven into this theme. Comedy has been known to have a cultural influence and American needs this pretty bad. We need to cool out and learn about the past in a healthy way.
Analyze the past from the time period and the influences of the time adding evolution. Deconstruction is required to understand the past. People scratch the surface and they are settled on their opinions. Continually learning is very important. Which is why I think Joe should to that historiography. People are listening. As a country we need this.
You don't judge people from the mid 1950's by the same standards as a current people. Why? We have advanced in thought. Fact. This is the chasm they cross when you judge something or somebody out of time. A history of comedy would get at the core of this in a very palatable and it would be fun to see all the comics and what they were trying to say and what they were goofing on. Why do we have comedy? Why is it so popular if it is so reviled? Asses are in seats and they are walking on eggshells.
