Before you criticize marxism it would be best if you actually knew what is was. I like Joe but hes pretty ignorant when it comes to this stuff. He basically just jumps on the i-lump-left-wing-social-justice-wars-and-pc-bs-into-something-i-call-marxism (neomarxism or cultural marxism). Most, if not all, marxists or neomarxist thinkers would actually disagree with the slippery slope social constructivist premise of post-modernism or so called "cultural marxism". The basic problem is Joes intellectual limitations on these subjects which makes it likely to fall for Jordan Petersens easy-to-understand psuedo science bs (more lobsters pls). Barnett is no doubt well read and its evident that he actually tried to first understand what he then criticizes, but he still makes a lot of "definition distortions" and misguided critique of what he believes to be marxism/neomarxism which he very often confounds with postmodernism. Just like Petersen he seems to come from an inherently Nietzschean baseline sprinkled with some pop psychology – when all the bs is cut what we have left is a denigration of Nietzsche's 'passive nihilists'.
