You can't explain of tbe religious damages tbe world's but talking about things not in your delusional and illusion peoples beliefs of tbe fucking god exiting is delusional thought; all your speeches is nl facts about your gender of yourself delusional of peoples suffering with struggling of beliefs today's ?!
Sam seems to differentiate between free will and voluntarily action, claiming free will to be an illusion, and voluntary action to be a reality. Can someone explain in clear terms?
Sam Harris is excusing the choices that people make with the argument from determinism.
There is certainly a sliding scale of agency and complicity in one's own actions. Harris' claim that justice cannot be retributive but must be merely utilitarian and preventative is to remove the moral from human action. After all, how can something be either immoral or moral if our actions are deterministic? You might as well arrest that hurricane.
But, says, Harris, that hurricane cannot be held accountable any more than the dog that maims you. And the human cannot be likewise held accountable. We must merely prevent them from doing further harm. He has eradicated the concept of morality.
When Sam uses “auto-da-fey” toward the end it’s hard not to picture Joe’s brain reverting to Butthead mode “uh-huh-huh-huh-huh “ … etc.
