  1. Funny how this guy uses words… wasting time, money & lives in areas of the world that have nothing to do with our security = "looking for emerging threats". Creating new problems = "forward thinking"… talking as if we would lose our 1st amendment rights if, say, the military stopped building up a massive presence in Africa… nonsensical & pure propaganda

  2. Bullshit brother. I've served. I was infantry but I'm not a combat vet and I could likely find combat vets that agree that the budget is too large. Brother, I respect your sacrifice but I'm not going to attribute your combat proficiency to your governmental finance capabilities. I just saw a shit ton of pictures of us destroying tens of thousands of dollars worth of NODs. There's a whole civilian market for it. Basically these NVGs were sold to us and then used and when they were still mission capable, they were destroyed. Meanwhile theres Motor T without lights and mortarmen with inaccurate plotting boards. If we shuffle the funds around, we can definitely do it. No one's waging war against China or Russia right now. They are safe as can be in their way of life as well as their decreased military spending. Democracy will still thrive without an 800 Billion dollar check being cashed each year.

  3. It takes approximately $250 billion to maintain the military we already have now, so why is the defense budget $730 billion? We could take $300 billion of that and put it towards improving our country, bringing our citizens out of poverty, getting better training and equipment for our state police forces and improving our public school system…and even after all of that, we would still have the biggest defense budget in the world by a huge margin
