The problem isn't the military as a career. The problem is the amount of money they dump into contractors and how little accountability there is for how it's spent. Millions upon millions, while our deficit steadily rises, while politicians and Wallstreet gets rich from whittling away at the working class.
This is the Military marketing strategy that they created so they can continue to push their endless wars
The duty that service people fulfill and the protection that they offer is essential to American's safety and the safety of many vulnerable people in other parts of the world as well. In some ways it seems that a Navy SEAL has too micro a perspective and can't fully understand the bloat and inefficiency that's present in the industry. It takes a group of people with a broader view of the system to tighten up the operation, reduce spending on excessive equipment and wasteful weapons development while ensuring that we still protect fundamental human rights and keep ourselves safe. I'm so thankful that there are people who are willing to sacrifice so much for causes that they believe in.
Andy Stumpf is a legend and I am happy this country has people like him.
Thank you for your service Andy. Huge profits in the military are the problem. General Butler war is a racket is a great book. General Eisenhower quote Beware of the military-industrial complex.
