I'm very happy that this man, as are the rest of us (as he stated), are available to have the ability to have an opinion. This country needs to retain its ability for opposing views to share their minds. What bothers me more is the inability of each side to do that in a reasonable manner without it devolving into chaos
Defunding the military ENTIRELY… yeah, that's stupid… But asking for our government to better reallocate some of its funding (say 5% or so?) into something we desperately need to make better. Like Healthcare for example. In which case we'd still be funding our military more than any other country on Earth by a significant margin…That shouldn't be seen as left wing, hippie, socialist nonsense. And the fact that so many people think that it would be is extremely concerning to me as an American citizen.

MONEY THAT WHAT???!
Look at how many billions have been spent on contracts for stealth jets/ships/vehicle projects that have now been abandoned because they don't work. Look at how much was spent on a digital camo pattern that maks soldiers MORE visible. Think about how that money was wasted when it could have done so much to restructure the VA and give more adequate care to wounded soldiers. Think about the upgrades in the body armor, helmets, and rifles that keep soldiers safe that didn't happen because it would cost too much. Think about the experienced officers and seasoned decision makers who were forced to retire due to budget cuts. Think about how far it could have gone to alleviate the financial burdens of individual soldiers. All that didn't happen because the people in power wasted money. Maybe if military spending was scaled back to a point where spenders faced consequences for bad decisions, taxpayer dollars would be spent more efficiently.
We spend more than the next 10 countries combined, we could take less than 1% and it could pay for ending homelessness
