Personally I have a Facebook account for two main reasons. The first is messenger so I can speak to people. Whatsapp seemed like a good alternative but it's now owned by the same company so it makes no difference. And on the other hand I'm in several groups and Facebook is the a good way to communicate and organize event. It was good for doing just that 3 or 4 years ago but now it's a mess. For example we organize motorcycle ride and the number of people who show up varies greatly. Why? Because sometimes a lot of people get notified and other times then don't. Earlier this months we were 15 and the next one we were 3, for no other reason that our fellow riders didn't get notified. It got to a point where a google sheet is way more effective to reach people who want to be involved.
We might be a minority who use social medias to actually meet each other but it has become pretty useless in that regard. Back to the old method when we had a fixed place and hour every sunday to gather. At least a calendar is reliable.
It looks more like garbage every day… YT doesn't get it… it appears to be attempting to annoy people more than anything…
hey i have an idea. get a real job and stop relying on social media for income.
Does anyone have a link to the the Facebook study Bill is talking about they don't mind sharing?
Is self esteem the psychological effect of social media??
