I'm English and I feel like I have more in common with the average working/middle class American than I do with Brits from the upper classes. I'd certainly feel more comfortable spending any length of time with a yank than a toff! I've met a fair few Americans over the years and found that our sense of humour isn't that different. I don't know many people who speak like the bloke does here. To me he sounds posh. I work in construction so have worked at houses in posh areas where people talk like it.
American accents get on my pip and vocal fry boils my piss.
"My friend Jamie was over at my house"
Jamie: 😆
"Not this Jamie. A different Jamie."
Jamie: 😭
The people who committed the 7/7 bombings were never British
Back in the day Americans were also white.
