I'm from Centre County PA, a couple counties over from Altoona….he is from a Klan that had existed there at the start of the 1900s. To believe not many racists were living above the Mason-Dixie line is a misnomer.
Well, we see what relaxing the drug war has done in blue states/cities.
This guy speaks passionately about "history", that he read about in books. A long lost time and place, of which he has no valid perspective. I appreciate his passion and effort, but his bucket holds no water.
"Strange Fruit".
Basically rooted in racism afraid of race mixing. Women voted for it because fear and prohibition. White men did not like white women mixing with the Mexicans, Chinese(asian), black people.
▪︎Vote for me? Why? I'll scare you.
▪︎Keep these uppity hippity dippy colors in their place: "protect the fabric society" at the time.
▪︎Shame and castigated hippies, race mixers, communists.
▪︎Bolster the Military and Police for protection.
▪︎Had the prohibition task force become the anti-drug force.
▪︎ Secure and bolster power. And that they did: Nixon won by a landslide.
▪︎Root of the vote for Women though is spousal abuse. No real link between alcohol or drugs though. I could not find evidence. Myth or escape goat?
