My first addiction was TV, until I sold it and had more time to do something productive.
Then it was videogames, now I play some single player offline games like TLOU and avoiding multiplayer and open world games, which are endless.
Sex is am addiction too, but I need it to avoid loneliness and depression. If I had a more fulfilling life I wouldn't have any of these addictions.
there are major video game companies out there who have patented ways of having their games be more addictive, and patterns to make them more money: Activision had a patent for a system in a popular new Star Wars game, where if you were to buy a new character, let's say Darth Vader, the game would put you in a lobby with alot of characters who don't stack up well to Darth Vader, giving you a higher chance of winning… and then they would slowly ramp down this advantage. They're pushing dopamine on kids – all they need is mommy's credit card.
"Dont you think it's addictive?"
"Sure."
I'm convinced.
"this guy never makes his point" because joe keeps interrupting him
Hmmm. Does choice not play into any of this?
