Am I the only one that could not stand Muhammad ali? I am not old enough to be from that era but at the same time video is video and still I'm telling you Muhammad Ali was an egomaniac I don't care what anyone says Sonny Liston was the truth❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Fixed.
The strike was similar to the one that dropped kimbo slice in the seth petruzelli fight
Rogan is right on both points, I think, a "flash" off-balance knockdown that was for real, but the stoppage wasn't. Sonny was ready for a great rematch the previous November in Boston, psyched and in top shape, when Ali's hernia postponed the bout. After that, Sonny started drinking again and was reportedly depressed. Perhaps he found out what he was expected to do. In Lewiston, Sonny dropped, and probably figured it he would end it then. He had warned his buddy, the great Joe Louis, not bet on him when Joe said he would. It wasn't the timekeeper who told Jersey Joe to stop it. It was Ring editor (and know-it-all) Nat Fleischer who yelled to Walcott. As Sonny's wife, Geraldine, put it years later, Sonny was afraid of no one except the guys who owned him.
The notion that sonny liston was frightened of Muhammad Ali must be the joke of the century, the winner was a foregone conclusion, befour it began Liston was afraid of something else😮
