It's all about the money. UFC don't give a shit about real fighters. You need to talk shit and give yourself a big image for social media to get noticed.
In the beginning I was 100% with Stipe saying “give the man his rematch. He’s the most successful and possibly best HW of all time. If anybody deserves a rematch it’s him.” And I still am, but now I’m at the point where I just wish Stipe would just take a fight. The rematch with DC isn’t happening. Give it up and let it go. The UFC wants to make DC vs Brock to give DC his payday before he retires. Stipe is only hurting himself at this point by sitting out this long. I say the next fight to make is either Stipe vs Ngannou 2 or Stipe vs JDS 3 and the winner gets the title shot. Or maybe give him someone slightly lower that’s coming off of a win. And I doubt the ufc just isn’t offering him fights. He’s probably turning them down to stick to his guns but he needs to give it up at this point. And it’s not like he’s just been sitting on his ass and not training since then. He’s still healthy and in shape and training, so why not (I know this because I train at the same gym as him).
