China's belt and road initiative is for countries like an individual going to one of those unregulated dodgy loan sharks who offer very high-interest rate loans fully expecting you to default so they can take your house, car etc.
A lot of things proposed or announced by China are a scam in some way or a lie, that includes their so-called environmental "greenness". For example the whole concrete thing, concrete immits a large amount of emissions and they have used an astronomical amount of it in the last 10 years. I bet they are the most environmentally unfriendly nation on earth, they have polluted their environment so much that so many things can no longer live there, and because of that and the fact that they eat everything that moves, there are very few animals left there. And now because they have famine they are harvesting everything from the world's oceans as quickly and quietly as possible. Those environmentalists who think China are a good example to follow are truly delusional. Trust China to be the face of environmentalism at your own peril.
