This guy says 72% of Americans believe in Climate Change. I find that very hard to believe considering that it seems like most people I come across online are right wing trolls who think CC is a hoax, and that pretty much the entire republican party doesn't give a fuck and neither does right wing media. Is this just a very vocal minority?
One of the most frequent arguments I get from deniers is that humans can't impact the climate, and that it's "hubris" to think so. Well, I would point out to them that volcanoes can impact the climate. Is that hubris? Well, if not, consider the fact that humans, through burning of fossil fuels, inject many times more gases into the atmosphere per year than all the volcanoes in the world put together. Combine that with the fact that we know we can destroy the ozone layer with CFC, which is why we banned their use. If we wanted to destroy the ozone layer we know we could do it, just dump a lot of CFC into the atmosphere. I'll go further. We have enough nuclear bombs to trigger a nuclear winter, essentially destroying all life on earth. Is that hubris as well?
