Joe Rogan if you think you are cute you are not. Your behavior is absolutely disgusting. Why don't you bring Dr Michael Osterholm back on your show. That's the only good thing you ever did for public health. Shame on you for attacking Dr Hotez. He has anti-semitic death threats if you haven't figured that out. Clean up your act man. Yeah, climate change is why diseases are moving from Africa to Europe…. it's nothing to do with the millions of people flooding into the continent by legal and illegal means every year, many of whom will be disease vectors…. and bringing with them a few guests…. couldn't be anything to do with that. Nope, it must be climate change. So does climate change mean that a mosquito can suddenly fly across the Med? Or is it more likely that infected people come in and get bitten by local insect populations some of which may be able to transmit the parasite…? I know which one i think is far more likely. And it's not the fact that it is 1.5 degrees warmer…..
Malaria was endemic to Europe, up to North-Western Europe and Britain. It was called swamp fever before WW2. The reason that it got eradicated was that they got rid of brackish water sources, where the mosquitoes that carry the disease propagate.
So it was climate change. Got it.
