Well the poll they mentioned about attitudes towards gay people may yield likewise results in Poland, Russia or Hungary which are inherently christian and conservative
Therefore this particular issue does not really capture the specific aspect that is being polled
Dont get me wrong, fundemantalism and extremism is a far bigger problem for the muslim world as the outcomes are visibly and measurably more problematic and detrimental to the society
This was so frustrating (its like watching a race debate in America without mentioning social inequality).. to be fair, initially, this was a great story by Maajid overcoming prison in the Arab world. Now I am from the Arab world; we’re not short of issues sometimes worse than the rest of the world.. what’s frustrating is not having any mention in a 2 hour conversation about any political/ military role of the West. Instead we listen to poor Sam Harris mistreated by the internet. Also thanks Sam for stating that not all conservative Muslims support bin laden; gee that was so generous of u; and Majod, bin laden had the looks and charisma!? What about all that US support that initially trumped him globally!?
You are selling books gentlemen, and indeed it is my duty to read those points of views; there’s just a growing frustration from always having the western point of view amplified by extremist muslims in the west who most likely get radicalized because of racism there.. who ends up getting messed up because of this extremism on both sides? our people here (the original christians and muslims of the world)..
