I don’t know about using dogs for hunting big game, but that’s just an ethical line I draw for myself. My hunting is hoofing it 2 miles into the mountain wilderness with a compound bow or a Muzzleloader to get away from all the lazy bastards that barely make it a half mile in. I love them though, their laziness and ineptitude push the deer to me. Hopefully in the next year or two I’ll get a black bear as well. My regular season tag includes a black bear and buck. Early/late bow gets me another chance at either a either sex or doe tag. Muzzleloader gets me another buck or either sex tag. I can use those two implements all regular season and the special seasons.
