Dan 8(2300 yrs) and Dan 9(70 weeks) do not have the same starting time
Dan 8:1 In the third year of the reign of king Belshazzar a vision appeared unto me
Dan 9:1-2 In the first year of Darius.. of the seed of the Medes… I Daniel understood by books the number of the years, whereof the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah the prophet, that he would accomplish seventy years in the desolations of Jerusalem.
Jer 25:11-12 when seventy years are accomplished.. I will punish the kings of Babylon(Dan 5:22-31)
Jer 29:10-14 after seventy years be accomplished at Babylon I will visit you… Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you. And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.

it is doubtful Daniel even knew the arrangement of Dan 8 followed by Dan 9 as we know it, but he had a lot more going on in his life than to be worried about the start time of the 2300 yrs prophecy from the third yr of Belshazzar who reigned another 15 yrs before the first yr of Cyrus and Darius the Mede

Hello team, not sure where to send questions so I’ll ask it here. Nehemiah 2 seems to be a more definite command to build Jerusalem instead of Ezra 7. Can you explain why we use Ezra 7 as the starting point?
