Im from upstate ny… here I can handle almost any situation. In Texas id get bit by a snake putting my boots on cause I'm not from that area. Crazy how that works
In my experience thanks bit on the head by a rattlesnake are usually OK with no treatment I’ve seen dogs goats and cattle bit on the head Get no treatment and survive I use OK Loosely lots of drainage but in the end they were ok

I had a pet ferret as a kid and as much as I hated that thing ,the coolest thing I ever saw was my ferret fight a diamond back rattlesnake and the ferret was so fast it dodged a strike in progress and grabbed the snake right behind the head and killed it
