PhD vegan heart surgeon vs masters of science. Who do you listen to ?
I'm a bit surprised that their discussion was based on the cholesterol myth, on the assumption that cholesterol is bad and dangerous, which has been debunked clearly. It has been shown that cholesterol itself does not say anything about the risk pf CVD or stroke, neither dose the number of LDL, yet they still both assume that it is tje case. YES, saturated fat does increase your LDL and Cholesterol, it also increases HDL and decreases Triglycerides. Tje increase in cholesterol or LDL does not per se translate into increased risks of stroke, CVD, etc.
1:09:20 Dr. Kahn says his 2012 study was "quoted 112,000 times". I guess he wants us to believe it's been "cited 112,000 times". It sounds like he's simply done a Google search. LOL He might be a good cardiologist but he's just a bad-faith actor in this nutrition space. And later in the podcast, he slips in the word 'cited' when speaking about his study. This guy is totally disingenuous. But what a ball-tearer discussion!!
I'd love to see those meta-analyses.
Why did Joe take an immediate dislike to Dr. Joel? Answer: It saves time.
However, the guy doesn't look like the physical wreck Joe described in Podcast 1551. Joel is 60 years old, too. Joe's memory may have been mixing up these two guys, somewhat.
