  1. Fun fact: in the early 1700's during a smallpox outbreak in Boston Puritan minister Cotton Mather (of Salem Witch Trials fame) asked his black slave Onesimus if he ever had smallpox. Onesimus told him that back in Africa he underwent a common procedure where pus from a smallpox boil was rubbed into a cut on ones skin, the person developed a milder form of smallpox from which most recovered then had lifelong immunity. He showed Mather a the resulting scar from the procedure.
Mather tried to get other people to try it but was ridiculed, as many people thought that it was a trick by the slave to kill whites, or that to deliberately infect someone was sinful. Someone even threw a b0mb at his home.
During a later outbreak Mather shared the story with physician Zabdiel Boylston, who performed the procedure on his own son and his slaves. He eventually did it on 242 people of whom 6 died – a 1 out of 40 death rate, whilst the normal death rate was 1 out of 7.
The procedure came to be called innoculation or variolation, and was the usual procedure until vaccination was discovered.

  2. I have never had a flu shot and have never had the flu… The whole platform is painting anti-vaxxers as complete idiots and morons… How is it that they don't want any legitimate credible people that are against getting the vaccine to have a voice… I think just the fact that they censor opinions, gives me pause and makes me even less likely to get a covid shot!!!!
