Yeah but what did they actually do about the smell from the corpses while dissecting them?
I remember the nursery rhyme "pocket full of posies. ashes ashes. we all fall down" which is when the Europeans were going through the bubonic plague and having to keep flower petals in their pockets to give them something to shove to their nose and smell while they walked through the streets filled with dead people and animals
