People today don’t seem geared towards friendship; they seem geared towards acquaintanceship. Social media has made it possible to become friends with pretty much anyone in the world, and as a result, friendships seem to have become dispensable.
Just look at how easy it is to “ghost” someone who supposedly wronged you. Before, you would have to confront them in person and work out your problems, but now? Not so much.
