  1. I think there's a really skewed idea on the part of the public, of what a "life sentence" in the U.S. is. Often, with good behavior & overcrowding issues & so forth, a person sentenced to life, is released in 10 or so years. As long as they are eligible for parole, a "life sentence" rarely equates to the rest of the inmate's natural life.

  2. The best thing that jail teaches a person is how to do time….the second best thing is how to be a better criminal. There isn't a single person living that is the same after or would be the same person after 10 years.
