You seriously don't know how to throw a knife Joe?
It takes practice, but it's stupid simple. I don't know the physics of it, but the trick (and the hardish part), is to only throw with ONE point of rotation, which includes not twisting your wrist.
Usually with a hatchet, you hold it with your thumb on the shaft to keep your wrist from rotating, your elbow at a square, and ONLY rotate your shoulder.
With a knife, tip your wrist forward so you can't flick it forward, arm strait, bend ONLY your elbow back, and throw with JUST your elbow.
It's stupid easy, you could be doing it 50% in 20 mins.
