  1. I remember once reading that our country fought a revolution for taxation without representation. Joe being dismissive about Trump being a “reality tv show” guy meanwhile he’s the fear factor guy who commentates UFC. Either he doesn’t understand how Trump works with Wall-street and politics, or he’s being willfully ignorant.

  2. The ridiculousness of taxing the rich more than they already are strips away hope from the people in a world where reaching that level of income is many peoples aspirations and dreams. It’s already hard.

  3. Taxes are used to reduce wealth inequity that over time damages capitalistic demand for goods and services.
The federal government or nation does not need taxes to pay it bills. They print the money, they indirectly give you access to the same money the ask in return a % share of. Progressive taxation with very high top bracket taxes amount makes perfect sense because it is only then that the EFFECTIVE tax rate becomes fair in context of end result buying power. USA had 90% top rate tax rate back in the day, but most very very rich people only payed an effective tax rate of 54%. That means that if they made 100 million dollars. They would still have 46 million to spend. I am confident a person could raise a family on that income and even invest in a bunch of companies. Oh and if they needed 100 million to buy a big factory machine. They could do so by NOT taking out the money from the business in the first place. Return a 0 on the profit loss budget and pay 0$ in taxes.
