Could explain why some people like my grandma are deathly afraid of house cats .. and she legit has never had a valid reason, just MORTIFIED since birth of them and she never had any bad experience with any cats
I'm not expert but i think that is just genetics, we can see patterns because of our ancestors had predators and seeing two eyes, fangs or natural camo pattern made difference in survival. That thing probably also helped us hunt later. We are afraid of dark as kids maybe because our ancestors knew that dangerous predator could be hiding somewhere, so those who was afraid more passed their genes, etc.
